Tackling youth homeless
Capito participated in Byte Night, the business & technology industry's sleep-out in aid of youth homeless during 2015 & 2016, with funds raised going to Action for Children Scotland.
Last year, we raised a total of £1545.32 for Byte Night.
We're really grateful for all the generous donations we received, and for supporting this very worthwhile cause. This event helped to raise over £1million each year for Action for Children.
The money raised from Byte Night goes towards Action for Children’s vital work to support vulnerable and neglected children and young people across the UK who are at risk of youth homelessness, helping to prevent them from ending up on the streets. Thanks to Byte Night, Action for Children will be able to help provide secure accommodation, education and training opportunities to young people most in need to help them achieve their potential.
Sleeping rough for charity ...
Ken Dougan and Robert Pate (left to right) generously volunteered to give up the warm beds for the night and sleep out on Friday 7 October 2016. This was part of Byte Night and to demonstrate that young people shouldn't have to sleep rough.
Did you know ...
- £5 could pay for emergency overnight support for a young person on the verge of homelessness.
- £20 could pay for food parcels to help parents feed their children nutritious meals.
Our fundraising activities in addition to the October sleep-out were ...
Christmas Jumper Day
We raised a fantastic £280.86 from Christmas Jumper Day and Capito's Christmas night out!
Pie Face Game
Pie face was a great success and together with the Jumble sale raised over £50.
1 million steps
Some colleagues raised £80 by walking 1,225,921 steps!

We held a jumble sale in our Livingston office which raised additional funds.
Guess Who Quiz
Our fundraising events kicked off with a 'Guess Who' quiz. This was great fun and included questions such as "Who (in Capito) was in the first Harry Potter film?" This raised £80.59, a really great start to our overall goal.
Congratulations to the joint winners including our MD, Alan Middleton.
