The Challenge

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC) required a trusted supplier to assist them with the commissioning of new end user computing equipment into the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The project was to be fully completed in a 10 week window to ensure services were completed in line with the overall hospital commissioning programme.

The Solution

They required a flexible and reliable supplier to work with their in-house team to meet these strict project deadlines and provide quality assured project delivery

The project included the commissioning of:

  • Over 2,000 PCs and Monitors
  • Over 200 Laptops with Laptop Ward Trolleys
  • Over 300 Printers
  • Over 600 Consultant Laptop Bundles

The Outcome

Capito provided the following services:

  • Secure insured bonded storage of hardware,
  • Imaging and Asset Tagging of PCs, monitors and laptops,
  • Coordinated deliveries and logistics on site,• Build and configuration of printer equipment,
  • Installation of equipment,
  • Full Asset Reporting of new equipment,
  • Project Co-ordination and Project Management

These services were all underpinned by Capito’s ISO accredited Quality, Environmental and Information Security Management Systems.

The project was delivered smoothly with positive feedback from both the client and end users throughout.

“The GG&C desktop commissioning model was to pre-equip where possible. There were two phases. In the Capito phase, their logistics team managed the deliveries to a busy site and subsequent timely deployment of desktops, printers and laptops.

This provided a solid foundation for the second phase where GG&C teams deployed and tested the applications. From this there have been minimal end user issues..”
